As of yesterday the wazee website was transitioned to a new web server. The old machine hosted the site for something like 5+ years and both the hardware and software were getting ridiculously old. You should find things to be much snappier now. There may be some minor bugs around the site as a result of the move - feel free to post any glitches found to the forum & I'll take a look.

The new server is a modern quad-core, 4GB machine with a 100mbps uplink hosted here.

What will you guys be using for the forum? I assume the real motivator is so you can run the site off a new web server?

Added to playlist monitors. As I recall icecast doesn't provide a means to determine if a particular mountpoint is up through the xml stats (the whole server only), and I assume you're sourcing all three mountpoints separately, so that won't be perfect, but oh well. The current scripts also assume a particular hostname is the same stream, so the listener counts are all matching for all stream1.wazee.org mounts...I'll fix sometime...

Agreed. Sadly, WinMo's still what I'm on...at least until the nexus one comes out for Verizon, I can convince my fiancee to give up her iPhone, and/or apple makes the iPhone for evdo networks

Seconded. I usually favor less hard-rockish tracks, but "The Hunted" is my preference. For a track of this quality in the WMD, Dr. Dyno ought to add one of the two...

Even though Howard's old music library is temporarily unavailable, I thought I'd do what I could to get the ball rolling on some more classicly Wazee-like playlists. Dr. Dyno, here's some artists that would be new to Wazee that I found through the spam in my wazee email that I usually ignore. I've weeded them out to these, please demo them.

Karnivool - My favorite track is "new day," but it's pretty long. The others are fine too, but more heavy than I prefer.

Kashmir - More than one I think are candidates. Contact info at the website linked from myspace.

And..hmm..its late and I have to go into work early tomorrow...so I guess just those two for now. Feel free to add to my list guys.

For what it's worth, I think the current playlist is somewhat temporary until the main library gets shipped to Jeff's house. But I think a merging of the classic format and certain timely singles as well wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing either, just because a track is popular doesn't make it unfit for my ears.
