Recently in our city GV was selected to to be 1 out 13 bands you can vote for to open for the local radio station's big rock show this summer.
if you get a chance go to this site www.97xonline.com and you can help the band by voting for them to play in where it says, "choose the opening band"

to vote you have to register on the site and i know it sux but all you have to do is enter your e-mail and you should be able to vote for GV on the survey. this is a big show and the band is really trying hard to get onto this so any help is appreciated!

this is so awesome. i can't tell you how thankfull the band is for stations like this that give so many bands a chance to be heard. not just on the playlist which is always nice but the fact that i can come here and discover new music everyday! you can't beat wazee, it is at the top of the list in my opinion.
wazee and the music fans here have always been supportive of GV and everyone really appreciates everything wazee has done.

soon it will be on i-tunes and distributed through some other outlets.

but i guess cdbaby took notice of this cd and they are going to be featured on the cdbaby home page starting on may25th. here is what the president of the cdbaby sent the band it was a very nice compliment:

i've had the chance to see them live for quite awhile now and i know what you mean by the growth. i see it and hear it to.

i also wanted to note that we've had some distribution problems for  the first cd "on the silver sea" once the new cd is released we will have both cds on the new website, i-tunes and cdbaby.com (and some other places) i'll make sure to post up all the info.

I need to catch up on handing out props to not just you guys, but to all the great independent bands that take time out to post things here for us fans.  So here goes...

The Golden Vanity: Thanks for taking the time to tell us about giveaways and such -- i'm watching carefully for that!  Nice to know that you stay personally involved to make sure things are done right too.

As far as the music goes, yeah, I can't wait for some new tracks.  When my credit card cools off from the christmas over-spending, I'll put it to good use and grab a copy of your first album.  F' it, it's very reasonably priced, so I'll order it now... Doh!  Out-of-stock.  Oh well, I'll keep checking back.

Downer's Grove and Control Box are my favorite tunes.  I'd love to read some comments about these songs from the band.  Any chance they'd like to add some to the WMD?  

Lastly, I liked reading about TGV.  It takes me a while to get around to checking out a band's website and all.  In fact, i didn't go there until today.  I guess I like to listen and appreciate the music in it's own right before knowing too much about the artists.  But now that I know a bit more about the band I'm convinced more than ever that they are going places.  Keep it real and I'll be watching (and listening!) to see where

don nice post and thank you very much! i myself love independent music and the areai live we have a ton of great unsigned indie bands. golden vanity plays with many of them and everyone seems like a family you know. everyone supports each other. i love the live shows as well. that is another reason i love this station and community, great music fans and great music signed and unsigned.

thanks for checking out the site though a new one is being worked on, a new format and theme all together. that site was done quite awhile ago and we have been limited to what we can do with it. as far as getting the cd i will see about that. recently the band had been working on getting onto i-tunes and a bunch of other online sites. the company that was providing that service has not done to good of a job cause it isn't on i-tunes and yet that is what the band paid for. i know it is on amazon.com but it is regular price there so as soon as the new site gets going i'm sure the band would like to still offer the 5.99 price for the first cd. the new cd i think will 9.99. i'm sure there will be some specials. the company listed on the site to buy the cd is out of stock but i know the band has more in stock.

i will see if they add some comments to the wmd for sure. and thanks again!

i was reading the stuff that happened with the seminole county cd giveaway. when labels get in the way of promotions sometimes it screws up things like this. . the good with golden vanity is that band and myself are very hands on and we handle the promotions. so any giveaways, promotions stuff will come directly from our own prootions team not a label. i guess that is a what an indie band does you know.

god I can't believe that I'm still bitter about that...  

i'm to sure about that, that would be up to the station. we are producing signed posters and giving away signed cds as well if not here it will be directly on their website. the website as well will be undergoing construction and i want to do some giveaways and such on the band site so either way yes there will be just not sure if wazee will be assisting.

thanks! well i do think it'll be a jewel case much like the first cd was. the cover art will be the picture on the first post most likely. the insides will have lyrics, a few band pics mixed in and maybe a group shot on the back with the track listings. thanks for the input cause that helps me
