1  Main Index / General Stuff / Re: What are the RIAA fees going to mean to Wazee? on: April 26, 2007, 08:47:17 pm
I dont think your math is quite right.  These are the rates I found:

2006 - $.0008 per performance
2007 - $.0011 per performance
2008 - $.0014 per performance
2009 - $.0018 per performance
2010 - $.0019 per performance

Meaning for 1000 listeners all day everyday would cost:
2007: $192720 for the year
2010: $332880 for the year

Not only are the rates a huge increase to begin with, but it's a 100% increase over just 4 years.  What other industry has that type of inflation?

BTW, I found the numbers here:  http://www.broadcastlawblog.com/archives/internet-radio-copyright-royalty-board-releases-decision-rates-are-going-up-significantly.html

A bill in congress has been introduced.  See how you can help at http://www.savenetradio.org/

...........where I work, if anybody gives me a hard time. I can usually point right over my shoulder at my boss who's been surfing ever since he showed up to work,.... late. Not to mention the fact that it's about all he does anyway.

Do you work where I used to?  My boss used to do the same thing.  He didn't come in late, but he did leave early all the time - if he came in.

A few years ago, I was at a hotel in Washington, just outside Idaho, listening to wazee, when Lucky Boys Confusion came on.  The next day I went out and bought the CD (VERY surprised to find a store that had it).  That CD was in my player at least 80% of the trip to NY.  If you don't like them though, guess it wouldnt work.

No, No A2DP.  It's one of the few things people are complaining about (that and no WiFi support).  I think people were able to figure out a way on the 650, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time with the 700.

I think all I need for my car is a 2.5mm to RCA cable.  Maybe a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, since I have a 3.5mm to RCA cable.  I'd have to disconnect if a call came in, but maybe not with a bluetooth headset.

So I got bored last weekend and ordered a new cell phone (Treo 700p).  In playing with it (and knowing I have unlimited data access from Sprint) I realized I can stream wazee on my cell phone.  Now I just need something to give an RCA output from my phone.  I already have an RCA hookup in my car.  That would be sweet - listen to wazee to and from work :-)

I actually put the trailer on my myspace page because it has got to be the worst movie ever made.  What's sad is more than 1 person had to think it was a good idea.

Damn.  All you have to do is read the first thread to see the admin's policy.  He says so very clearly.

(Even to the point he says if you want to record the stream and not break it up, thats ok)

Personally, I use this http://www.xrmx.com/solutions/software/mp3-stream-recorder/ which allows you to record the stream in 1 piece, like a vcr.  That is where "fair use" comes in - as long as you dont alter it in any way (including breaking it up) it's ok.

14  Main Index / General Stuff / Re:What's up with this crap? on: December 02, 2005, 08:18:56 pm
well... the rest of the world has less of those holiday-days that they celebrate in the US... like thanksgiving, haloween and labour day... and maybe you guys have a longer summer holiday, so you should have about as much days off as every1 else... "should" Tongue

I get 9 holidays per year off.  I know the UK has at least 8 (which only includes christmas, boxing day, and new years) - as posted above, they have that whole week off, so that's more than 8.  Also, I get vacation accrued at 1.33 days per month until my TENTH year (3 weeks).  They get 1.67 days per month until their THIRD year (4 weeks) and then get 2 days per month (almost 5 weeks).  Also, they get to work 37.5 hours/day - 40 for us - and this is all within the same company...
