They haven't really sold out. They were copied by everyone else and that's why they sound like most of the music out there these days. I have listened to bot dookie and American Idiot side by side and they styles are VERY similar...

I agree with music@work
I just replaced a lost CD of Dookie this past weekend and also listened to them one after the other. They didn't sell out! They are as true to punk as they ever were. Lyrical content and all.

Dookie by far, In my opinion it is their best album ever, although american idiot is pretty close for overall quality albums. if I was forced to choose i would pick Dookie.

I took your advice and bought Dookie.  Haven't regretted it, it's a great album.  Thanks once again for the advice!!

you haven't had dookie?! oh god ..probably the best album they did.. and that's my childhood ;-) beside green day -  basket case offspring came out with self esteem that was a cool time actually but already ~8-10 years ago  or so..

Well, next month I'll either buy Nimrod or Warning, what would you fine folks recommend?  (I'm going to try to "collect them all")

Havn't got the album's myself, but a friend of mine has got 'Nimrod', which isn't that good, he says. So I'd recommend 'Warning' (with 'Hold On' on it, which is a fun song Smiley)
