This is commonly reffered to as: "Squid Jiggin" music in the west were I am from. I cant stand this genre of [and I use the term loosely] Music.

At these festivals........you are usually drunk ,right?
If your judgement is also impaired, It would be advisable, not to pick out a bed mate for the evening right?, it should also follow that it is a bad time to form your musical taste. Namely when you are having trouble navigating to the bathroom.

I dont drink enuf to get drunk on festivals, cuz im usually one of the youngest walking around there =) And Flogging Molly is nice and funky, but not funky like ska, but in a very different way (ska sucks imho). I agree to you that Flogging molly isnt great to hear behind your pc, but thats just the kind of music it is. But the cultural gap between a canadian and an irishman is probably too big :p

To - who ever has the itchy finger on karma:
I have never given karma points for or against someone for there taste in music.
It's a very personal thing. It is just their likes and dislikes.
This is a freedom of expression forum isn't it?
 I dont think music _at_work deserved negative karma for his post. He had a unblemished record til now.
As for me I could care less, Flogging Molly still "bites" in MY world. So if you feel so inclined, click away at my Karma meter.
If you like it great, go buy it and play it to death. Just don't give others grief for not liking it, and saying so.
The difference between Irish and Canadian's culture has very little to do with my initial post. I was unaware that they were even from Ireland. That has nothing to do with my distain for this genre of music. It's just hokey music to me. I wouldn't like it even if I did drink and was drunker than Dean Martin on a Martini and Rossi wine tour.
