oh come on.....theres something wrong with this band at the moment!!!! they've gone from punk crossover to total sell out with this album arrrghhhh
still i saw them a few years ago at a festival,,,,,they were awesome.not as good as smashing pumpkins though, who were after them...

They haven't really sold out. They were copied by everyone else and that's why they sound like most of the music out there these days. I have listened to bot dookie and American Idiot side by side and they styles are VERY similar...

I agree with music@work I just replaced a lost CD of Dookie this past weekend and also listened to them one after the other. They didn't sell out! They are as true to punk as they ever were. Lyrical content and all.

Dookie by far, In my opinion it is their best album ever, although american idiot is pretty close for overall quality albums. if I was forced to choose i would pick Dookie.
I took your advice and bought Dookie. Haven't regretted it, it's a great album. Thanks once again for the advice!! Ben

Ben you haven't had dookie?! oh god ..probably the best album they did.. and that's my childhood ;-) beside green day - basket case offspring came out with self esteem that was a cool time actually but already ~8-10 years ago or so..

ok ...i may have been a bit harsh... i like green day,,,i really do.. but i just think there a different band from the guys who recorded dookie...
i hate shiting on bands.. so i will just say,errr how can i put this,,, your all going to be listening to dookie for a long time (me to) but the new stuff just smells a bit funny,,, oh im a hypocrite cuz i love american idot.....so just ignore me and put on siamese dream instead.....

lol thanks....that is my fave' album of all time i think.... oh yeah if i get the chance to see greenday again i would there in a shot... but maaaaan i'd love to see the pumpkins again,,,im nearly crying just thinking about it

Havn't got the album's myself, but a friend of mine has got 'Nimrod', which isn't that good, he says. So I'd recommend 'Warning' (with 'Hold On' on it, which is a fun song  )
