S.O.A.D. ROCKED THE DOME!
SOAD was totally MEZMERIZING!
Ballkick and the_guy were at the SoaD show last night representing Wazee fans everywhere. They started out with BYOB and the crowd was on there feet and most stayed there till the last song played. I have been to allot of concerts I the past two years and SoaD had the most enthusiastic fans of any concert I've been to in recent memory. Most of the songs had a new intro than I was used to hearing but every song packed a punch that staggered even the 70-year-old lady that was sitting two rows in front of me.
The light show was superb. One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
Sound quality was "bang on."
The only song they didn't play that I wanted to hear was Old School Hollywood; on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give these guys a 9.5.
If you get a chance to see them,...............GO!
Mars Volta was Ok, got to say I thought I was in a time warp with them though.
I couldn't help but make the comparison to Santana. Lots of percussion and Latin beats. Most songs were 8 - 10 min each. Sounding like a free form, jazz jam. The guitar player as I said, sounded just like Carlos Santana. They were good but I'm not sure how good of a match they are with SOAD.
A great evening all in all.
