damn. I'm 38 and I still eat Captain Crunch. I have to fight with my 7 year old sometimes to get the last bowl. All 4 of us do listen to some of the same music.
I have a 7, 11, & 14 year old and they all listen to the same music as I do but they have their own favorite bands. My 7 year old: Korn, P.O.D. & System of a Down & Pantera 11 year old Anything that's not country or Death Metal. Has a real taste for 50's 60's 70's 80's Usually likes songs with keyboards and or piano. the-guy, my 14 year old listens to Heavy rock anything him and his buddies can grind their BMX bikes to. System of a Down, Damage Plan, Crossfade, Megadeth. He just joined Wazee so his favorite bands are changing constantly. All The kids and I sit almost every friday night to listen to Dr. Dyno as we prepare and eat As Friday night IS Hamburger Helper night. (yeah its my night to cook)

Of course, I saw them live once. They rock live, it's this great raw out-of-control rock'n'roll. Are you going to their concert?
Oh and, if you don't live there anymore, where DO you live then?
