Why do you guys say that?  I don't seem to have any trouble understanding fernando.  Perhaps it is because I'm closer geographically?  Or because spanish is used probably more than english where I live?

In any case, Fernando:  My spanish still sucks, so maybe you can help me.  Your signature translates to something like "There is nostalgia no worse than to long for what never it never happened" (according to babelfish).  Can you re-translate that for me?

Does it mean, "There is nothing worse than having nostalgia for what never happened?"

For some reason, I like hearing sayings from other countries.  You'd be surprised how many sayings have an analogue in other languages or cultures.  One of my favorites is:

"The donkey does not fall in the same hole twice."  This one is from Syria, I'm told.  Sorry I can't give it in arabic.  It really does sound cool in the original language.  I think the thing I like about it is that it implies that donkeys are smarter than people on some occasions, because we sure as hell repeat our mistakes often enough!

Cheers,
Don

Dear Friend...
First: the translation to my words is something like that... "the worst nostalgia is be thinking sonmething what never happened ever " Is a part from a song by Joaquin Sabina ( Spanish )
Some persons " die " thinking about things that finally did not happen ... (they lose stole and energy, although sometimes we cannot avoid it ...)
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your words for me...Also I believe that my English is not so .. horrible ! But.... ¿?
My farewell was only for this forum ( the 1rst idea)... it is not an annoyance ... I will return somewhere here without problems or will do another forum... It is for now..... Perhaps only for today... haha
Bye... and thank you again....

"Een ezel stoot zichzelf geen twee keer aan dezelfde steen".. it means a donkey doesnt hurt himself on the same stone twice... or something like that =)

See?!  It's like that.  Now you post some dutch saying and we'll see if anyone has an equivalent.  Betcha a lot of the really good sayings have spread round the world over the course of time.

Ah!  But look at me.  I'm hijacking a pictures thread.  Somebody shoot me.  [saunters off to some other thread like WTF or OT]

hmmm...

"De appel valt niet ver van de boom"

probably a very very known one... lods of shit to say about it too... Like Newtons theory that things fall staright down... but thats outa the context...

translation: "The apple doesnt fall far from the three"

For example: when a kid's dad is all messed up and criminal, so will the son be... and then people can say this saying...

Reej... help mehhh, i think ive got it all wrong.. big time!
