Does Celldweller really count? According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celldweller , they have two foll LPs and both are released by Position Music.

An argument could be made that "unsigned" = "independent", which they certainly are given that the initial offering was through their own efforts and only later sold under the PM label.

I, for one, don't think they should be excluded.  However, they are so successful they kind of miss the spirit of the category.  I think it's meant for bands that really haven't had their "big break".

hmmmmm... would hate to see ANY band still truely unsigned (or labeled) be excluded from the voting round by this decision... no offense to Celldweller at all... i think they're great!!
gotta believe this one should be for the guys still paying for their own studio time... and sellin' discs outa the back of a van at shows!!

This has got to be the hardest category...

As evidence of their promising-ness, AEA is the only band to have two positions in the WMD:

    Envy and All Envy Aside

Plus, they went out of their way to hook us up with a link to their new video for Burning Again video.  How cool was that?

We can trust they'll not get all gaga when then get famous -- let's just hope they have time to drop us a line here now and again!

And kudos to all those bands who belong here as well.  I lost sleep over this...
