I actually have a fish eye from a car's driver side mirror attached to the edge of my cube. Now if they would only let me install a doorbell...

...........where I work, if anybody gives me a hard time. I can usually point right over my shoulder at my boss who's been surfing ever since he showed up to work,.... late. Not to mention the fact that it's about all he does anyway.
Oh and the president of my Company sends out XXX rated e-mails.................... I think I'll be able to defend my 20 mins fairly well.
I also have a KVM switch for my 4 computers so changing screens is almost intantanious.

It takes up to much workspace to have a monitor for each, I like having a swichting system because while I'm running a diagnostics program on two I can work on a third or fourth. For what I do it works better.
Our IT guy has 4, 19" flatscreens. he needs it for his job but he doesn't use as many tools as I do either. So he can afford the loss of workspace.
I work on alot of specialized equipment and need specific tools to do some of the repairs I do. Also bins of parts that I used most often. Solder/Dsolder station, Ocilliscopes, Wave generators, two laptops and two desktops and a bevy of other testing meters etc.....it's pretty crowded on the ol'Test Bench.

BTW what are you testing for?............................

ballkicks hint:   every 7th question pick        d) all of the above

well, uhm... lemme think... this particular thingy went well... about 60% of all stuff goes the way it should go. The other 40% suck big time tho! Like today... i put up some kinda molecular screening for 1500 plants... turns out none of them are positive for what i was looking for... over 30 hours of work and two thousand euro's wasted... but hey, better luck next time! I guess you have these kind of "disapointments" too?

problem is where i work is they track everything. meaning all the webistes you go to anything you download can all be viewed by my boss on the network.
so just watch out just because they aren't starring into  you're cubical doesn't mean they aren't watching man. Wink

with large networks it is very easy for corporate networks to have surf control software that records each and every request... the only way around it is with a proxy and those are easy to track too but require small modifications to the software that not all network admins make. so you still need to be careful

good point... hell we can't even listen to streaming music at work anymore which sux cause i can't listen to wazee at work anymore.
it's not worth getting fired because you want to surf the net, i just do it on my own computer. but it does suck since i work in front of a computer that i can listen to internet radio.
but i found a cool program for i-pod users called "i-fill" and it records internet radio streams right onto you're i-pod. you can't share the music but at least you can get hours of streams on your i-pod to take with you. pretty cool! http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/ifill/

and it is legal... Wink

Do you work where I used to?  My boss used to do the same thing.  He didn't come in late, but he did leave early all the time - if he came in.

We've got it down to a science here,.. if he comes in on thursday to do his expense reports ,.....then it's a good bet that it's long week-end time once again for our dedicated leader,....
And he leaves some days two hours after arriving to do lunch and just never comes back,...which is good,.. as he's usually chemically altered and in a bad mood if he does come back.
Also the first guy to point out if anybody is late or takes time off,......fucker!
