Just as a very preliminary idea to throw out there, does anybody have an interest in starting a partnership-owned station? I just recently got to a point in my life where something like this would be a possibility for me, and in case the Wazee stream has permanently gone dry it might be cool to at least explore it.

Dr.Dyno said he left a message... I was thinking it might be cool to see if there were a few people that would be interested in going in on paying Wazee's bills together, but looking at the licensing rules it looks like this just can't happen. As I understand it, to be completely legit, we'd have to - Use the newly negotiated licensing rules, requiring a minimum anual payment of $25,000, -or -
- Pay ASCAP in the hundreds of dollars a year, BMI in the hundreds of dollars a year, and perhaps SESAC in the hundreds of dollars a year
- Pay the RIAA in the thousands of dollars a year.
Not to mention the hosting fees, which seem to run about $1/listener/month. |

So are you saying Wazee is dead? As it it can no longer be sustained cost wise? I'd love to support it via dollars but I just can't, I am stretched as it is.... like I have said before I would be happy to assist in other ways if required, such as time to do X... and/or Y. It would be good to know either way - as in dead or alive |
