Few days? ha! That was the easiest linux apache/php install I've ever done. It's running the newest apache and php versions now, all went in in under 1 hour. That's gotta be some sort of record

I agree, the new interface looks very impressive.  I really like the new section for the WMD.  Very cool!

Howard, that's a nice new layout!  It's really slick and easy on the eyes.

The only suggest I'd have for you is possibly reversing the order of your donor lists.  Are you trying to attract more new donors or the repeat donor?  If repeat is your goal, I would reverse the order so that the top donors get more recognition, thus attracting the repeat donor.

My guess is you put the most recent items first, moving from specific information to more general information.  I dunno, both make sense, but it's something to consider

If I understand the purpose of the top/main menu correctly, It's basically there to provide quick access to the core features of the site: playlists, forums, the wmd, and contact/donation info.  Most, if not all, of these links are duplicated farther down the page.  The redundancy is there for ease-of-use.

One possible suggestion to aid this ease-of-use feature would be to cut back on the text a bit in the top/main menu.  For example:
--instead of "forum home" ..."forum"
--instead of "view/sign guestmap" ..."guestmap"
--instead of "live chat room" ..."chat"

Once some of the text has been trimmed from the menu, it might be easier to rearrange it or somehow make it less cluttered.  Regular visitors will appreciate simpler links,  and newbies to the site will be exploring the rest of the page, anyway, so if for some reason they don't immediately catch on to the abbreviated top links, they'll scroll down to "wazee.forums" or "wazee.music.db."

[Sigh.]  I don't know, it's a suggestion, at least.  Look at it this way: if you don't like the idea, you can just ignore it.  

I'll try to come up with some better ideas, I promise!

What I might do is make a content-box on the main page for the "tune in" links ... I did play with a dhtml drop-down menu thingy ... didn't like that at all.

I like having direct, one-click access to as much as possible from the menu ... but, maybe we'd be better served by pulling out some of the menu options.

Yes, no dhtml drop down. I was mostly concerned with accessibility to everyone...I mean those visitors who are not IT ppl, coders, sysadmins, script kiddies, geeks, and the like, ppl who don't know what bitrate of what media player is right for them. I was thinking putting a link "Help tuning in" or something on the same line as all the playlist links that goes to a page describing everthing (including the basics...what that word streaming means anyway) and if you have dialup click the 24k one and if fast 128 and here's where to get some cool free programs that let you tune into wazee etc etc.

It's my daily 2 cents anyway.

Any ideas from anyone on what to do with the top menu?  It's a little cluttered.  If there's a way to line it up like the tune-in table then it'd look good, but that's the only suggestion I have to clean it up.  Anyone else have any ideas?

Im on a mac and when i try to link to the new website it says it cant handle the file...whats up with that?

BTW Mosey ... that is a total mock-up.  Feel free to play with the layout and content in the WMD block as you see fit.

Also, we'll want to change the WMD to function as real pages (i.e., not in the IFRAME).  When you've got everything working on the new server I'll give you some templates ...

I really like it except for the grey filler around the outside.  

The light grey background is there just for now so I don't loose track of what site I'm looking at!  Once we fully shift over I plan on going to the darker bg.

The only suggestion I would make is make the donations section a little smaller (maybe less stats on that page and allow a link to all those stats).  Looking at the overview, donations takes up WAY more than the recent add's section, and I think a lil more information about the recent adds might be preferred (perhaps rollovers for which song was added if not displaying the song in that list itself?)

One of my design goals was to incorporate listener donations more into the site ... I might pull one or two of the summary categories off of the summary menu and save those for some detail pages elsewhere ....
