Hey guys,

The radio contest started with over 5,000 bands. It then narrowed down to 35. We were one of the 35. Unfortunately, we did not advance to the next round. But in.spite.of would like to once again thank all of you for your continued help and support. Very much appreciated. Thanks to Howard for posting up that radio link on the Wazee homepage. You guys have treated us very well, and we promise to keep delivering some quality music. We have some big things going on, and will let you know once it is all confirmed. Rock on Wazee!  Grin

What does that radio station no about good music anyway.  The more I listen to the radio, the more I realize how horrible all commercial radio really is.  WAZEE is the only station I enjoy!  When are you guys gonna go on Satellite radio already, I thought I read something about it in the forum last year, was that for real?

Please do it, so I can actually stand my commute to work!

I sent a note to XM years ago when they first came out ... their policy is not to stream internet stations.  All their stations/programs orginate out of their studios.

Would be cool! Smiley

Howard: so see if they'd be willing to give ya a station!  Go the other way.  Don't stream from the net to XM.  Stream from XM to the net!

If you got XM, you'd have a crazy following.  You made a kickass DJ and you could bring XM to the internet community by running the same kind of web community you run now for your shoutcast (net) streams.

But I digress... been there, done that, said that!

You mean throw out the wazee name to make XM happy but keep the same format, and then happen to have it be streamed onto the net somewhere as well?

yeah, something like that.  Have the main wazee format be XM, but stream the XM feed to the net.  And not "Just happen to..." but have it worked out w/the deal.

I went to XM a while back and asked about net streaming too.  I went with the question of is it possible to take a web stream and broadcast it to XM and their answer was No, because they were saying away from net streams.  Instead, I wonder if they'd go for an XM stream as their main stream and allow a feed from that to the web.

I highly doubt they would allow something like that.  Why buy the XM adapters if you can just stream it on the computer??  They wanna make their money, just like everyone else, but they wouldn't if they allowed it to stream.

It's not a conflict of interest though.  They're two totally separate markets.  True, XM is trying to make its way out of the car and into the house, but their primary subscribers are people using it in their car.  I dunno... wishful thinking I guess

Even if XM got in the house, typical people don't have their PC's jacked into their stereos. And XM subscriptions are cheaper than broadband (i hope). So there would still be a lot of people that would listen on xm even if it were also streamed online.

At the end of the day I don't see why XM resists though. Since XM gets their $$$ on a subscription basis, why wouldn't they want to carry a station that they presumably wouldn't have to pay anything or much of anything to broadcast and that clearly attracts listeners (we hit capacity every day...)? They get to advertise another *established quality* commercial-free station available through them. What's to lose, whether also streamed online or not?

Come on XM corporate...you can do it! Make the smart decision!  Wink
