"Pure rock 'n' roll is what America has been craving in this new century, and 28 North delivers. Pound for pound, this is the most rocking band I've seen come out of the burgh in a lont time." - Kevin Goiler, PA concert promoter

"28 North is a funky blend of southern guitar and vocal harmonies... a tight-knit foursome that knows how to rock and write... Reminding listeners that music is about having fun. If your leg isn't moving while you listen to these guys, you may want to check your pulse." Tripp Clarke, WYEP-FM

"They write the type of songs you can latch onto right away, thanks to colossal riffs and strong, soulful vocals." -Dave Richards,

"...With this kind of momentum, it's only a matter of time..." -Ernest Barteldes, Cleveland Scene

28 North has been writing music, recording, traveling, and slamming out live performances for five years. During that time they've performed support for Dave Matthews Band, Dickie Betts, Ace Frehley, Pat McGee Band, Joe Grushecky, Town Hall, Pepper's Ghost, Pat Travers, Ekoostik Hookah, and many more. Although all four members are in their early twenties, they have produced a significant body of work with over 100 original songs in their ever-growing repertoire. Based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 28 North brings big crowds and raucous standing ovations wherever they play.

The foursome’s sound is rooted in classic rock but they have innovated their own uniquely soulful and electrifying sound. The list of influences is endless but The Beatles, The Band, The Allman Brothers, and Led Zeppelin lead the way, with added blends of funk, alternative, folk and jazz.

Guitarist and lead singer/songwriter Michael Lindner turns on the showmanship with powerful vocals. Totally immersed in a world of writing, arranging, and performing, his presence is unforgettable. A defining moment came at the TLA in Philadelphia in 2006, when 28 North opened for one of the founding members of the Allman Brothers Band, Dickey Betts. “After that experience, there was no looking back for me,? says Lindner.

Guitarist, vocalist Alex Stanton is known for his thoughtful lyrics, gripping guitar work, and multi-faceted musical ability, he takes credit for 28 North favorites, “Turn? and “Home Side Up.? Stanton says, “I want to keep making the kind of music that advances the art form.?

The backbone of the band, drummer and vocalist Tyler Bond is quietly commanding. Tyler brings intense creativity and musical virtuosity to the band. Audiences are blown away by the sheer energy of his jaw-dropping drum solos. He says, “performing is such a rush, I get the most satisfaction from introducing our music to new audiences.?

Bassist Jonathan Colman is the newest member of the ensemble. “I was attracted to the band’s balance of song craftsmanship and spur-of-the-moment improvisation,? says Jonathan. The Philadelphia native brings a unique, inventive style of playing to the bass guitar that can only come from true passion for the instrument.

Infused with retro culture, the tunes of 28 North are thought-provoking with resonating hooks and choruses. With two completed CDs, “Gone Too Far,? and “Mystery,? these four young men have something exciting to say...something innovative with a nod to the past. 28 North songs are radio-ready, edgy, but classic enough to be enjoyed by a wide range of listeners. Listen and you’re going to hear one of the most solid bands around.
