Bio
Singer/songwriter Kt Sharp despises insipid love songs. Instead, she captures snippets of reality and life struggles. Having escaped substance addiction, she found kinship with drummer/recovering addict Shawn Means, writing lyrics and jamming in-between studies at Uni Auckland in 2008. Later the Identity Slip crystallised with Tim Roper on guitar and Marcus Croucher on bass in 2010, and the quartet's influences range from Rage to Radiohead and Weezer to Siouxsie and the Banshees. With mesmerising keys, psychedelic guitar atmospheres, smooth, prominent bass and innovative drums they generate an alternative rock experience likened to Evanescence or Garbage.
After an exciting year in 2011 gigging around Auckland with amazing acts like The Glory Sea, Beautiful Collision and [shift], the Slip was recently hosted on 95bfm in Auckland and JoyFM in Melbourne. They now look forward to 2012 with an EP in recording and more opportunities to share the Identity Slip - a personal, intimate expression forged from a burning inside.
