iodo were formed in the early stages of 2003 with the aim of making music that was ‘interesting’. A strong Radiohead influence, lack of a drummer and an interest in computer recording led them to produce their debut album “try to be” by the end of that year. The augmentation of the group to include a keyboardist and drummer opened up the possibility of live performance and led to the line-up they have to this day. Their music is a rich weave of Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Pavement, Boards of Canada and Weezer, slipping deftly between epic melancholia, moody electronica and uplifting guitar indie-pop.
On the left you can download two tracks from the debut album: "unique" is a twee slice of summer indie whilst "soundscape #1" is a lilting piece of synth-laden instrumental soundtrack music and "note to self" is quite unclassifiable.
They are currently working on a second album which they hope will be finished by the autumn. More information can be found on their website: www.iodo.tk where you can buy copies of their album.
