With one year to go in the 20th century, cover band Krazy decided to branch out and become original band 3DP. They had a sound that would lend a creative twist to the new millennium. Brothers Tim and Graydon Keathley, and long-time friend Danny Michalski blend their respective sounds of bass, guitar, and drums in driving rock rhythms, punky-pop, or smooth mellow styles to back-up Melinda Keathley’s rich piercing vocals. Melinda (known as Mindy) and her sister Patti, singing back-up, have taken their lifetime of harmonizing and writing into the stories created by the music and words of the band.
Since their 1999 beginnings, 3DP has played numerous bars and clubs, recorded with Billy Morris of Warrant, and opened for Blue Oyster Cult and Ron Keel and Ironhorse. They have been featured on most college stations around Ohio and Pennsylvania, and were played on 100.7 WMMS in Cleveland, 105.3 Y105 in Mansfield, and 102.3 The Fox out of Mansfield. They can also be found all over the internet, on radio stations and download sites, truly making them a band for the new millennium.
The past six months have proven the most exciting yet for our heroes. They have been chosen to play at the largest Easy Rider convention of the summer in Chillicothe, Ohio, opening for Seven Mary Three. They also have joined forces with Big Noise Productions, spreading their internet playground. They have recorded their newest CD at Lava Room Studios and it is now up for grabs on CDBABY.com. This is definitely a band worth watching.
