Envy was born in December of 2001 at UW-Platteville. At its core were five
individuals who drew upon different musical backgrounds, but held the same passion
for creating powerful and memorable songs. Today, although the scope of the band
has changed and broadened with experience, the passion behind each song remains as
focused as the day it began.
Now calling the city of Milwaukee its home, Envy is far from your typical rock band.
Envyís music fuses straight-up rock-ní-roll with elements of blues, pop, R&B, and
experimental textures. What results is a clearly distinctive, irresistible sound that has
won over listeners all over Wisconsin and beyond. In addition to their unique and
captivating sound, Envy offers up one of the best live performances around.
Constantly drawing upon the crowd and each other to ignite the songís energy, the
band incorporates the audience to create a memorable show that keeps people longing
Envy has released two albums which showcase the bandís diversity and creativity:
Identity Crisis, May 2003, and Message for the Blind, January 2005. The first disc was
heavily supported by internet radio station wazee.org, and allowed the band the
opportunity to spread its music to a larger audience. Then, determined to hone the
bandís style to something instantly recognizable, Envy began to build their second disc
from the ground up. Message for the Blind, independantly mixed and recorded by Envy
over an entire year, seamlessly combined the bandís influnces into songs which set
the band apart from all comparison. The music is distinctly Envy, and it has been
critically acclaimed by press and internet sources. The disc also includes Envy RPG, a
role-playing video game created by the band. The game uses Envyís music and history
to create an addicting story that brings people to know the band better through
playing the game. Through their musical endeavors, Envy has earned the opportunities
to share the stage with artists such as Three Days Grace, Kevin Martin of Candlebox,
The Goodyear Pimps, Jesse Lang, and other national acts.
The band continues to create new music and build its presence through its live shows
and online following. Envy seeks to expand its fanbase everywhere it goes, and
constantly promote the roots of rock in their new and unique style.
Envy's line-up includes Jaek Pachniak (guitar), Dan Faherty (guitar), Nic Fugate(drums), Amanda Tvedt (vocals), and Paul Pachniak (bass).
