The Drains are a Pop Rock band based in Nottingham, England. Originally formed in 2001, the band has undergone many personnel changes since forming. The original line-up consisted of only 3 members: Sam Beeton, Phil Booth and Sam Burgess. Due to the untimely death of bass player Sam Burgess at the age of just 15, the band were looking for a new bass player. This was devestating as Sam was so popular and many thought the band would end. Luckily, Sam's brother Toby, then took up the bass playing job and Robert "Turtle" Lord was added to the line-up on the keyboards. The band were very successful and played Nottingham Rock City main stage. However, due to differences in the band, the band slowly drifted apart and Sam Beeton secured a solo recording contract and Toby left shortly after Sam Heath joined the line-up as the new guitarist. The band then invited Jack Cross, a fellow musician at college and he gladly took up the bass playing role. Unfortunately, Sam then decide to leae the badn shortly after recordign these tracks and the badn recruited new lead guitarist, Rich Fitzmaurice and keyboard player Declan Greaney.
The band had regrouped and started gigging and writing again. The Drains have just recorded their first EP, which is called "It's been a while" and is dedicated to the memory of Sam Burgess. The band hope you will enjoy the tracks and thanks Wazee.org for hosting their music to a worldwide audience.
